Somo has officially signed a landmark 5-year strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kenya's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to launch our newest Tengeneza Circular Shared Production Hub in Molo.
Through this public-private partnership, the Ministry is providing physical operational space as an in-kind contribution, while Somo deploys its proven operational engine to drive green economic growth.
The Molo region sits on the edge of the Mau Forest ecosystem, one of Kenya's most critical water towers. To protect this vital landscape, we must give local communities bankable, eco-friendly livelihood pathways that reduce environmental pressure.
Somo is bridging this gap on the ground by providing rural farmers, youth, and cooperatives with:
- Shared Infrastructure: Pay-as-you-go access to commercial-grade agro-processing machinery, eliminating crippling upfront capital costs.
- Standardization & Compliance: Hands-on support from production specialists to transition informal products into KEBS-certified, market-ready brands.
- Financial Inclusion: Unlocking collateral-free capital using our alternative credit scoring (Somo Scorecard) and AI-powered data tracking tool, DigiKua.
By aligning national environmental mandates with grassroots execution, we aren't just dreaming of a green economy — we are actively manufacturing it.
